A series of Mercury-related aspects opens the week, creating a swirl of mental and communicative activity. What at first seems to be the best idea ever may end up being majorly flawed as Mercury bounces from eager Jupiter to pensive Pluto.
One saving grace to the roller coaster of thoughts and ideas is that Mercury’s retrograde shadow period officially ends early in the week, giving us the green light to move forward with plans and agreements – and even sign contracts – although, this may not be the best week to do so given several other aspects.
Conversations that take place at the beginning of the week may simmer on low boil until Thursday’s Scorpio New Moon when the lid may very well fly off. Learning to identify and respect your body’s signals for anger and fear will be crucial to navigating this energy with tact.
Thursday’s Scorpio New Moon packs a punch with notable aspects including the Moon being conjunct Mars, squaring Saturn, and opposing Uranus. This lunar event gives us the motivation to dig deeper and uncover the truth, while we feel tension between our emotions and responsibilities. Any insight revealed under this dark moon period will need to be integrated practically to build stronger foundations and a more authentic expression of self.
Directly following the New Moon, Venus and Mercury ingress into the next sign in the zodiac wheel. Venus will enter Capricorn and Mercury will enter Scorpio on the same day. For this reason, we may feel a bit rattled around the end of the week as our thoughts and desires shift with the cosmic tides.
Mercury’s entrance into Scorpio will create a planetary stellium in this fixed water sign that longs for truth, intimacy, depth and power. With the Sun, Mars and Mercury all in Scorpio, we’d be wise to locate the house in our chart ruled by Scorpio for further exploration of how this energy is manifesting in our lives.
With Venus in Capricorn, our desires become entwined with concepts of stability, productivity and seriousness. Relationships built purely on physical intimacy or sporadic passion may bear the brunt of this energy. Venus in Capricorn is sure to demand that we leave drama and impulsivity in the past in favor of building something long-lasting. Next month Venus will go retrograde and end up spending a long four months in the sign of Capricorn, signaling an upcoming journey that is less romantic and more business. Now is a good time to look to the Capricorn part of our chart and think about what Venus’s extended visit could mean for us.
