Eclipse season reaches its energetic crescendo this week. The Moon is New in Gemini for a Solar Eclipse occurring on Thursday at 3:53am PT / 6:53am ET. This eclipse is highlighting a new chapter in a story that began around June 5, 2020. When the Moon is in Gemini, we are focused on communicating, moving, and learning. Gemini helps us open up to diversity appreciation as we collect multiple perspectives through our interactions with various people. Gemini also helps us embrace child-like curiosity in order to find the energy to travel down multiple rabbit holes and learn a little bit about a lot of different things. The gift here is an openness to learning and teaching fueled by a desire to engage in meaningful expression.
There are several notable aspects involved in the Solar Eclipse. For one, both the Sun and Moon will be conjunct Mercury Retrograde. Mercury is the ruler of this eclipse, making this aspect particularly significant. We may have important conversations or learn new information that changes our perspective. Or we may serve as the guide or messenger that supports someone else’s awakening. On the following day, Mars moves into Leo. In Cancer, Mars was acting intuitively and with the intention of finding safety. Now in Leo, Mars’ needs will shift toward fostering creative self-expression, finding ways to play, and increasing vitality. This is a Mars placement that will shine as bright as the Sun when given the chance, as Leo is ruled by the Sun. In this position, Mars can offer a sense of sustained life force energy that propels us toward joy and freedom. The weekend offers portals of deep healing, especially with regard to the way we seek to relate with others and experience pleasure.
