This week begins with a transit that is largely defining the evolutionary path of 2021. Saturn, who is currently retrograde in Aquarius, will square off with Uranus in Taurus for a second time. Uranus is moving direct which can tip the scales of the energy of this square to be defined more as a need for change and revolution in our lives – personally and collectively.
In other words, the Universe is conspiring to help us find our own updated authentic version of alignment in all areas of our lives. However, since Saturn is involved, this change cannot come without us taking responsibility and rising to meet the moment with maturity and grounded wisdom. On the heels of the recent solar eclipse in Gemini, Saturn squaring Uranus demands progress on the change that has been initiated.
If you’re like me, you are aware of the changes that need to happen in the pursuit of building more stability – and yet, Saturn can be restricting you along the process of taking action. This can cause friction and frustration, so it’s important to find healthy outlets for this pent-up aggression, sadness or even grief. We can also be painfully aware of lack and limitations at this time, as Saturn presses for us to make use of exactly what is in front of us (*and* inside of us – including our internal control system). It is from a space of necessitated resourcefulness that we can learn to minimize outer distractions and focus completely on the task at hand, how to get it done, and when to seek assistance from others.
The rest of the week is astrologically pretty quiet, relatively speaking. That is, until the weekend when the Sun enters Cancer. After a particularly jam-packed Gemini Season including both an eclipse and Mercury retrograde in Gemini, the beginning of Cancer Season can be a welcomed shift in energy. If you’ve been looking for a break from the restless and ever-changing landscape of life lately, Cancer Season may be able to offer you a soft, if brief, refuge from the busy storm. It is during Cancer Season that we seek shelter and emotional comfort, so go ahead and indulge in your favorite creature comforts sans shame. Look to the house in your chart ruled by Cancer for insight into where the Sun will shine a light in your life over the next month.
On the same day as we enter Cancer Season, Jupiter takes his turn going retrograde. In general, outer planets are retrograde far more often than personal planets, which makes the effects perhaps more obvious on a collective scale. In this case, Jupiter is concerned with our expansion and growth. Now that he has dipped his toes into the sign of Pisces, he begins to go back for anything he forgot while in Aquarius. Jupiter will not return to Pisces again until December 28. Look to the sign in your chart ruled by both Pisces and Aquarius for clues about the areas of life in which you can expect your progress to be reviewed.
