Slowing it Down
Compared to the recent astrology, this week is relatively quiet. After a sobering and potentially shocking Capricorn New Moon last weekend, this week gives us the opportunity to carve out space to tend to our spirituality and internal world. We would be wise to jump at the chance for quality time spent with ourselves engaging in introspection and emotional processing.
Jupiter in Pisces squaring the Moon’s Nodes in Gemini and Sagittarius is a reckoning moment. What is this moment trying to teach us? How can we anchor into our understanding of spirituality as the context for the lessons we seem to be continuously spiraling back toward? How have we grown and expanded in the past year and a half?
On Wednesday, Venus retrograde in Capricorn will sextile Neptune in Pisces, further leading us into this spiritual exploration. This is a powerful time to sit with ourselves and evaluate the way we are using our most precious resources, such as time and energy. If we are not pouring these resources into meaningful pursuits, we are likely to end up feeling unappreciated, unsatisfied and maybe even empty inside. Venus retrograding through Capricorn is trying to help us realize the value of our relationship to people, situations, jobs, groups, etc. If we are not receiving the support that we need, is it time to muster up the strength to make a potentially painful change? Is it time to let go of something? Is it time to turn to faith?
Over the weekend, the Sun will merge with Venus retrograde. This transit can help shine a light on a particular situation. A fresh perspective or a glance at a deeper understanding of something is within reach. It is important to follow our heart and intuitive sense when navigating tricky circumstances.
Mercury will meet Chiron in a sextile on Sunday, bringing the potential for that overdue conversation to take place. This transit occurs first on January 9, and again on January 18 when Mercury retrogrades back to this same spot, so we can be sure that this will not be a one-time easy fix. Instead, we’ll need to roll up our sleeves and put in the hard work to communicate in a healthy way, even though we may have been hurt.
