The urge to break free is strong this week with a Sun-Uranus square pushing the boundaries and encouraging us to build new foundations. The Aquarius Sun fills us with creativity and inspiration to break the mold while Uranus in Taurus seeks to liberate us from old patterns we’ve clung on to in the past. Circumstances, relationships and/or jobs that are not in our highest alignment may become unbearable as the Universe attempts to evict us from that which is no longer contributing to our soul’s evolution. There may be an underlying sense of hope in our hearts, even under mounting pressure and restriction. No matter how small this hope, we must nurture it and have faith in it.
A Leo Full Moon dances in the sky on Thursday January 28 at 11:16 am PT / 2:16 pm ET. This Full Moon may inspire us to take bold action in the name of liberation – but we would be wise to practice temperance in all areas to avoid unnecessary drama. Harnessing courage to make meaningful change is quite different than overstepping and making an ass of ourselves. There could be resistance (whether internal or external) to fully expressing ourselves or having a good time, which can be alchemized into slow progress when this energy is worked with mindfully. Venus conjoins Pluto at this Full Moon, ramping up the intensity in matters of love, relationships, money and values. It’s important to stay alert and mindful of power struggles and attempts to control through manipulation. Firm, consistent and healthy boundaries must be practiced now and always. This Full Moon does present its challenges, but a very fortunate Sun-Jupiter conjunction can bring blessings that have us feeling excited and optimistic while boosting our self-expression capabilities. Have fun, make space for your inner child to play, and focus on maintaining self-respect.
We end the month with Mercury stationing retrograde in Aquarius on January 30 at 7:52 am PT / 10:52 am ET. Now until February 20 is a great time to review our current path to see if we are still feeling aligned or if adjustments need to be made. Lots of times Mercury retrograde will throw ridiculous obstacles in our path to force us to slow down and integrate new insights, so be prepared for some energetic stop and go traffic. And, of course, always follow your intuition when it comes to making plans – but just know that Mercury (ruling the mind/communication/information/details) is not operating clearly and therefore we likely do not have all pieces of the puzzle at this time.
