On July 13, 2022 at 2:38pm ET / 1:38 pm CT the moon will be full in the sign of Capricorn. This Saturn-ruled full moon may bring in a wave of seriousness coupled with the need to take responsibility for the way we feel about the structures within which we function – whether personal (career, relationship, home life) or societal (government, business, capitalism). At the time of this full moon, Saturn (currently retrograde) makes an exact trine to Venus in Gemini. Saturn wants to build by utilizing its relationship to Venus, who is softening our hearts in the pursuit of creating meaningful connections with diverse ranges of people. This is a full moon that may have us rethinking the transactional concept of “networking” and instead help you find true supportive community that reflects the authenticity of your soul.
This full moon contains a multitude of aspects to various asteroids and planets, including Pluto, further adding to the rich meaning of the current moment. A full moon aspecting Pluto promises to dredge up material from the underworld of our psyche. These topics can include power, abuse, fear, anxiety and existential dread. We may find ourselves contending with the ever evolving and brief nature of life. Rather than grasp tightly to what is slipping through our fingers, we are better off letting go and making space for the next growth phase.
Wherever Pluto is involved, we are speaking of the concept of brevity – the uncomfortable truth that nothing lasts forever. Contrary to societal “norms”, we as a people are not built to sustainably live our lives in denial of this truth. The denial of this truth, and subsequent panicked grab for any shred of power, is in fact the root cause of much suffering in the world.
The full moon will oppose Mercury and trine Uranus, adding an unpredictable nature to this lunar event. Our attitudes and perspectives may need to shift in light of new information, which is not always comfortable. However there is a chance to switch up our approach with a sense of adventure with Uranus facilitating the full moon’s emotional release.
Below you will find a breakdown of each aspect this full moon is making to other planets and asteroids.
Main Aspects of the Capricorn Full Moon
Moon (Capricorn) ☍ Mercury (Cancer)
Coming to terms with a reality/truth vs. a nostalgic perspective we may have been holding on to. Potential for news/communication that feels like a challenge to our sense of safety or disrupts something close to home. Awakening to new perceptions informed by a deeper connection to our own feelings and experiences. Emotional reactions to opposing views.
Moon (Capricorn) ▵ Uranus (Taurus)
An emotional detoxification preceding massive change in the way we connect to our senses. The key is to look for sustainable and yet wildly inventive solutions to the suffering caused by the archaic, crumbling structures of society (aka connecting to our own body and truth as direct resistance to capitalism). We must find a way to align our actions with the value of basic life-giving necessities (food, shelter, community) so that we can create *new* laws/systems/regulations built upon the regard for the sacredness of human life.
Moon (Capricorn) ☌ Pluto (Capricorn)
Indescribable amount of destructive energy bolstered by the feelings brought up in recent weeks since the Cancer New Moon. Purging emotions that have been suppressed/hidden/ignored/avoided. Becoming the alchemist and turning our emotional pain into a new energy stream (whether through creativity, action, conversation, tears, primal screams, etc.). Becoming unable to continue doing the same things over and over again. Changing habits, ending relationships, getting curious about the root of our coping mechanisms.
Moon (Capricorn) □ Chiron (Aries)
Undeniable anger/tension/fear coming to a boiling point in regard to where we are being suppressed or our freedom to belong to our own selves is being threatened. Finding ourselves in a repetitive pattern that seems to always show up and cause pain. Looking at an old wound from a more serious, grounded and/or mature perspective. Finding the strength to challenge what we’ve always told ourselves.
Moon (Capricorn) ﹡ Juno (Pisces)
The mark of a compatible relationship with anyone (not just romantic) is an increased sense of compassion, forgiveness & feeling of unity in the willingness to open-mindedly explore the multifaced nature of being a human. Relationships based on a mutual willingness to accept and flow with new realities as they come into focus and imagine what’s possible for the future.
Moon (Capricorn) ☍ Ceres (Cancer)
A challenge in feeling soft, tender, vulnerable. An engrained orientation toward stoicism is blocking our path to true healing and emotional liberation. Blind loyalty to tradition without considering consequences or side effects is the opposite of what we need to feel emotionally well.
Main Themes of the Capricorn Full Moon:
Whatever we do, it must include our acceptance of and reverence for the death/rebirth process on every level – psychologically, mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually.
We must face the fact that we may have been lied to or led to believe incomplete truths about what is worthy of our time and attention.
We need to grieve the fact that our autonomy has been threatened and the wounds run deeper than we may have imagined. Our sovereignty has been under attack, and we must reclaim our right to define our lives by what community, work, success, love, happiness and worth means to us.
Regardless of past interpersonal and relational trauma, we must still reach for community. In direct defiance of that which tried to weaken us, we must find ways to reach for what has the potential to give us strength.
The Full Moon will strongly affect these placements in your birth chart….
My deepest passion is to help fellow human beings experience deeper fulfillment, healing and alignment through the deconditioning process. By working through this process we remove the masks we were conditioned to wear and subsequently uncover our core authentic truth.
