A bright light shines on the story Mercury retrograde is weaving, and we may find more conscious awareness becoming available. Things will still seem hazy until February 20th at the earliest, so we can’t expect an immediate understanding of the bigger picture – but we can be sure that our soul is picking up each piece of the puzzle as we backtrack through the area Aquarius rules in our chart.
With Saturn in energetic flow with Chiron, we may be asked to show our emotional maturity related to being our own individual and forging our own path independent of the approval of others. Are we proud of the path we are walking? Do we get a sense that we are standing in our integrity? Have we mastered self-control versus immediate gratification? Are we beginning to see ourselves as part of a larger community rather than an island? These are questions Saturn asks us to contemplate.
An Aquarius New Moon on February 11th can find us focused and intent on getting what we want as she squares Mars. Aquarius is a sign that can be expressed as a detached perspective from the subjective personal experience, so it would be wise to self-reflect on our motivations and desires to ensure we are not simply steamrolling over anything that we perceive to be in the way. Around this New Moon we may also feel the emotional effects of whatever was going on around February 1st when the Sun squared Mars. While we may feel inspired to change up our lives and circulate fresh energy at this New Moon, we could find ourselves involved in misunderstandings or restrictive circumstances since Mercury retrograde conjuncts Jupiter and Venus at the same time as Venus conjuncts Jupiter and Saturn. There is a push-pull energy of expansion (Jupiter) and restriction (Saturn) that can feel like a rollercoaster ride, but is ultimately a natural process that consciousness goes through as it evolves.
Grand gestures in love and communication are possible this week, but with Valentine’s Day occurring during Mercury retrograde we would be wise to follow actions and not words. We may find ourselves wanting to express big feelings to those we care about; or we could be on the receiving end of such circumstances. Throw in a Mars-Neptune aspect and our sense of passion and sensuality can reach spiritual heights, as long as we have tuned into our heart and double checked our motives and boundaries.
